TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands — Regional air connectivity in the Caribbean is set to receive a major boost as interCaribbean Airways announces new nonstop routes from Tortola (EIS) to Barbados (BGI) and St. Maarten (SXM), starting March 8, 2026.

The expanded service will operate seven weekly flights from Tortola, including four nonstop flights to Barbados and three flights routing through St. Maarten, providing travelers with increased flexibility and improved access to key Caribbean hubs.

The new routes are expected to significantly benefit the British Virgin Islands, strengthening regional ties and making travel easier for residents, business travelers, and tourists alike. Barbados serves as a major financial and cultural center in the Eastern Caribbean, while St. Maarten remains one of the region’s most important aviation gateways, offering onward connections to North America, Europe, and beyond.

Tourism stakeholders anticipate that the additional airlift will support visitor growth, enhance multi-destination travel, and improve overall regional mobility. Business leaders also see the move as a positive step toward deeper economic integration across Caribbean markets.

With this expansion, interCaribbean continues to position itself as a key player in regional air travel, focusing on reliable inter-island connections that keep the Caribbean closely linked.

Bookings for the new routes are now available at interCaribbean.com and through authorized travel agents.
